Brave New Play Rites Full Production - Bloody Mary

For 35 years, Brave New Play Rites has been staging new short plays by emerging playwrights studying in the Creative Writing Program at UBC. This year, to follow health and safety mandates from the BC government due to Covid-19, we have moved our entire festival online. Ten full productions of short plays have been filmed, each one to be released daily from April 17th, for you to enjoy from the safety of your own home!

Our third short play is - "Bloody Mary" by Cara McKenna.

Bloody Mary is a spooky comedy about a wannabe witch who wants to summon demonic forcesbut gets more than she bargained for when Bloody Mary herself appears in the mirror and offers to help her get to hell.

Bloody Mary is directed by Simon Lam and features the performances of Denisa Doff as Jennifer, and Laura England as Mary.
