Schoolhouse Rock Live! A Fundraiser for The Rosendale Theatre!
Children and adults alike will thoroughly enjoy this live theater production, based on the classic Emmy Award-winning 1970's Saturday morning cartoon series that taught history, grammar, math, science and politics through clever, tuneful songs.
"Schoolhouse Rock Live" is a one-act musical medley of the songs from the famous cartoon shorts that were originally conceived as fun, educational "commercial breaks" in between classic Saturday morning cartoons. "Schoolhouse Rock" soon became as popular as the shows they aired between.
The live production features a nerve-wracked school teacher who is stressed about his first day of teaching until he goes down memory lane and rediscovers the beloved 70's tunes. Various characters acting as muses emerge from his mind to show him how to win his students over with the imagination and music of the series.
Some of the Hudson Valley's favorite musical performers will take you through such beloved Schoolhouse Rock songs as "Just A Bill," "Lolly, Lolly, Lolly" and "Conjunction Junction."
This production is being directed by Carrie Wykoff and features some of the finest musicians and theater professionals in the Hudson Valley including: Jenifer Constantine, John Cox, Seth Davis, Melinda DiMaio, Mike Gonzales, Callie Hershey, Dylan Johanson, Charlie Kniceley, Kelleigh McKenzie, Jan Melchior, Doug Motel, Molly Parker-Myers, Shabbat, Ross Rice, Amber Rubarth, Sophia Skiles, Marianne Tasick, Carl Welden and Tim Whalen.
Funds raised will go towards the future renovations of The Rosendale Theatre which will include a re-do of the lobby and bathrooms.
