Do you have worrits?
Do you have worrits? A Melva taster workshop.
You know, that uncontrollable churning in the pit of your tummy like you have 341 worms squirming about? Melva Mapletree has them too.....
Melva is a mountain-climbing, sweet-eating, eye-rolling just-turned-11-year-old. Shes also had a bit of trouble battling with anxiety or worrits as she calls them but has learned some ways to manage them, with help from her Grandpa, her niggling voice, Gideon, and some very unusual friends.
This session is a fun taster into what Melva is and her world! Join funny, boisterous, adventurous Melva Mapletree, to learn what worrits are, why we have them and some fun ways that you can manage your worrits to be bold and brave.
Led by multi-award-winning theatre, drama and creative learning company, Mortal Fools, this is a practical, fun session for children aged 7-11 and the adults in their lives. Youll also hear about Melva Mapletree & the Quest for Barnabas Boggle; our online, interactive storytelling Melva game to support childrens mental health which is now available. You can find out more about the game here: https://bit.ly/2NXbvv7
Melva centres around the story of Melva Mapletree, who struggles with anxiety and bereavement (or worrits as she calls them). The aim of Melva is to use theatre, storytelling and practical activities to help young people better understand their worries and anxiety, provide young people, their teachers and families with child-friendly, accessible language to talk about and deal with mental health and wellbeing and to address mental health stigma by encouraging open conversations between young people, their peers, and the adults in their lives about worries and anxieties.
This session is a fun taster into what Melva is and her world!
This event is FREE, but pre-bookable and as a charity supporting young people, we welcome donations! You can support us by follow this link: https://bit.ly/3lTLN7v
