An Old-Fashioned Thanksgiving Concert Reading
City Lit Theater presents the second in its series of one-night-only concert readings of great holiday stories. On the day before Thanksgiving in 19th-century New England, the seven Bassett children are left to fend for themselves when their parents are called away to tend to ailing Gran'ma. How they rise to the occasion--charmingly, comically, and even heroically--makes for a classic adventure by Louisa May Alcott, author of Little Women and Jo's Boys. Come celebrate Thanksgiving weekend with us by relaxing in the all-too-rare comfort of having a wonderful story read to you.
Tickets are $15, with discounts for students, members of the military and subscribers.
City Lit is located at 1020 W. Bryn Mawr avenue on the northeast corner of Bryn Mawr and Kenmore inside the Edgewater Presbyterian Church building. It is accessible by the Bryn Mawr stop on the CTA Red Line and the 84, 147 and 151 bus lines. Please call 773-293-3682 for more details.
