ADA/Accessibility Program Part 2 Compilation of ADA Design Guidelines
Dr. Saum Nour will present a history of ADA from inception to California code. A variety of accessibility topics will be discussed and examined from types of buildings and functions of buildings, legal cases, and available training resources.
Learning Objectives:
-Attendees will review variations of building types low rise, high rise, urban, rural.
-Attendees will review accessibility functions of buildings such as commercial, healthcare, residential, as well as specialty cases such as rest areas, signage, monuments, and national parks.
-Attendees will examine legal cases surrounding the ADA/Accessibility and the role of architects in the cases.
-Attendees will review a sample checklist by an ADA Inspector.
The presenter will provide information of different sources available on training and handbooks for architects in CA or future architect taking the ARE exams.

Dr. Nour is a frequent lecturer at USC School of Architecture ARE sessions as well as ADA. He was the founder of the Absolute Consulting Engineers in Newport Beach 30 years ago.
