Dust braid to memories from a writer's youth: parting with a lover and spending time with a dying grandfather. With nods to "Hiroshima Mon Amour" , "Malcom X" and " The Conformist" the director wanted the film to become a lyric meditation on loss, love and letting go. The director says " I wanted to show black people vulnerable, loving each other. I wanted to show black people in quiet reflection. I wanted to show black people living faces with dignity."
