Tacoma School Board Special Meeting March 18
Superintendent Carla Santorno announced this week that she intends to retire at the end of the 2021-2022 School year. As a result of that announcement, the Tacoma School Board of Directors has scheduled a special meeting to discuss and vote on two agenda items:
1. To meet in Executive Session to evaluate the qualifications of Deputy Superintendent Josh Garcia for the position of Superintendent of Tacoma Public Schools.
2. To accept Superintendent Santorno's retirement as stated in her letter dated March 15, 2021, and that the Board mutually agrees with Santorno to serve as Transition Officer from July 1, 2021 to June 30, 2022.
The meeting starts at 6 p.m.
If you would like to attend the March 18 special meeting in person, you must reserve a seat in advance.
No public comment will be taken in person during this special meeting
Seating is limited due to COVID-19 restrictions that require six-foot social distancing. In-person attendees also must wear a mask at all times.
Please arrive 15 minutes early for check in.When you arrive, you will be required to fill out a health form attesting to the fact that you do not have COVID-19, are not awaiting COVID-19 test results and have not been exposed to anyone with COVID-19.
