In a down economy, some elected officials want business friendly customer service. What does that mean to planners with adopted plans and ordinances? How can planners meet the expectations for expedited everything while being attentive to their legal and moral obligations, including the AICP Code of Ethics? This session will help identify how planners can help lead the implantation of business friendly practices. Methods for making procedures more business friendly will be reviewed in the context of the AICP Code of Ethics. Several scenarios will be discussed and ideas for resolving potential conflicts in an ethical manner will be considered.
