Earth Day Tree of Life Planks
Earth day is about paying homage to our environment. This past year has shown how well Mother Earth prospers with less pollution, and more conservation. This workshop taught by in-house artist Donna Smit will guide students through a mindful creative process reusing planks of wood to create a tree of life. Planks will be painted in acrylic paint prior to class to allow drying time. Students will learn to break bottles, vases, and cups to create dimensional leaves. Students will use a variety of materials and explore textures and layering. Crash glass, stained glass, and even plastic can be used to create beautiful artwork. Vintage jewelry can be used as well and students are encouraged to bring baubles from home. Resin will be the final process and will cover the entire piece. Each plank will have alligator brackets installed for ready to hang. Size is approximately 5" x 18". $75
This workshop is appropriate for ages 14+ Please note our Cancellation Policy: Preregistration is required for all classes including payment in full. COVID-19 Safety protocol: For the safety of teachers as well as students, we will be requiring anyone in the studio taking classes or shopping, to wear masks and keep their hands clean. Students can go outside to take breaks and get fresh air during class, but must be masked at all times inside the studio. If you anticipate this being too cumbersome please wait to register for a class at a later date when these restrictions are lifted. Classes will be limited to six students as we ease into reopening. Studio and common tools will be sanitized after each workshop.
