Beginning in the 1950s, the husband and wife team John and Faith Hubley broke from traditional styles of animation and made films with a completely unique visual style and poetic sensibility. Their passion, humor and joyous family life informed their work together, and is evident in this collection of innovative films celebrating jazz music. This swinging program highlights the best of the Hubley's jazz films, featuring their collaborations with Dizzy Gillespie, Ella Fitzgerald, Oscar Peterson, Quincy Jones and Benny Carter.
