Kayla Ringelheim: A singer-songwriter native of the Boston area who now calls Providence home, Kayla Ringelheim is a young woman with impressive piano chops, ancient tales to tell, and a voice of honey to tell them with. Since her first open mic at age thirteen on the stage of Cambridge's fabled Club Passim, Kayla hasn't stopped playing. With the immense power of connection and expression in music being instilled in her at a young age, Kayla conjures memories of Joni Mitchell and Suzanne Vega with a modern edge of pop and jazz.
Arthur Lewis: Arthur grew up in Queens in the 80's with his twin sister Marie, recording fake radio shows on cassettes, listening to his mom play Haitian folk songs on the guitar, and singing background vocals on his dad's home recordings. After graduating from Yale with a degree in music, he came back to New York, playing whatever role was needed - including singer, pianist, percussionist, guitarist, musical director, composer, and engineer - for countless musicians, comedians, and theatrical performances. These days, Arthur performs as a solo singer-songwriter, an original member of freestyle rap improv comedy group Freestyle Love Supreme, and as part of the hip-hop/soul/folk/jazz musical collective, The Melting Pot. He released his self-produced debut, If We Were, in 2008, and is currently working on a project with Joel (aka MaG), a Bronx-based MC from the Melting Pot crew.
Sarah Kay: Sarah Kay is a poet from New York City who has been performing her spoken word poetry since she was fourteen years old. Sarah has shared her poetry on six of the seven continents, and is currently yearning for Antarctica. She is perhaps best known for her talk at the 2011 TED conference, which garnered two standing ovations and has been seen over three million times online. Sarah is the founder of Project VOICE, an organization that uses spoken word poetry to encourage people to engage in creative self-expression in schools and communities around the world.
