Oregon Dance Education Organization (ODEO) is proud to present the Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Access (I.D.E.A) Series, a series of online professional development workshops and panel discussion for dance educators and the dance community. Monthly sessions will feature leaders and experts from Oregon and the Pacific NW leading the way towards a more inclusive, equitable, diverse, and accessible dance community in Oregon.
IDEA Series #6: The Access Divide: Socio-economic and regional access to dance June 19, 3:00-4:00 pm
Income and location often play a significant role in an individual's access to dance education, performances, resources, and opportunities. How do these factors impact access to dance and how do they compare in both urban and rural locations? How can we, as educators, become more aware of barriers to dance? And how can we help break those barriers to make dance more accessible for all? What issues to access has the COVID-19 pandemic revealed and what are some strategies to addressing them?
ODEO is honored and excited to have the following panelists contribute to this discussion: Kasandra Gruener: Director of Education Outreach @ OBT (retired) Lisa Greiner: Owner of Oregon Coast Dance Center
The views expressed in each presentation are those of the speaker(s) and do not constitute endorsement of ODEO.
All sessions will be online via Zoom - a meeting link will be provided in the registration confirmation email.
Professional development and clock hours credit are available upon request.
