The Sparrow Film Project
This time The Sparrow Film Project Gala will be taking place at the Museum of the Moving Image!! This is a huge step for our community and we can't wait to share it with you.
Doors open at 7pm for a half hour of champagne and then we begin seating in the theater. After the film we all come back out for the open bar and hors d'oeuvre. Then we'll go back into the theater for the awards ceremony.
A brief history:
The Sparrow Film Project started as a motley crew of local artists, musicians, designers, actors, and filmmakers from New York. Anyone interested paid twenty bucks to enter and drew a unique title out of a hat. Based on that title, each participant received just three weeks to make a three minute film. We screened all of the finished films at our bar, The Sparrow Tavern. Best film won all the loot.
Years later this event has distinctively evolved. With each successive project, participants receive a new set of guidelines, providing challenges to evoke passion and creativity for audiences and judges alike. At the completion of each project, the participants are honored with a red carpet gala and award ceremony that's become larger and larger every time!
We wish to stimulate the creativity of our patrons. We also hope to inspire and energize our expanding community; To create a forum in which that community can invent, create, and share ideas, while providing an environment that will excel those ideas to fruition. But most importantly, we want A HELL of a good time for all involved.
