Polymer Chemistry and Lutherie: The Materials of Fretted Instrument Making
We kick-off this ride with Dr Steven Pollack who doubles as a science fellow at Carbon and a lutherie for Yellow Rose Lutherie based in Redwood City, CA. In his talk titled, "Polymer Chemistry and Lutherie: The Materials of Fretted Instrument, he plans on discussing about the polymers in the guitar that can influence, both positively and negatively, the quality of the sound by dampening specific frequencies or enhancing them via resonance and what makes the acoustic guitar get its "voice." Register here to join us for this talk on 18 February 2021 at 7:00 pm PST.
