1ST FRIDAY @ GALERIA WEST Music Concert Series Event with The YAS-CORTES DUO in Concert
The popular bi-monthly FIRST FRIDAY @ GALERIA WEST live concert event at the wonderfully intimate GALERIA WEST Art & Music Gallery in quaint downtown Westfield, NJ continues to bring to you a unique opportunity to enjoy a diversity of music genres as performed by a select series of international artists on the first Friday of every other month. Come enjoy the music traditions of Latin American Folklore, Boleros, Tangos and more with the acclaimed YAS CORTES DUO on Friday, November 1, 2013 at 7:30pm at the Galeria West Art & Music Gallery.
The YAS CORTES DUO is comprised of guitarists and vocalists Maria Cortes and Oscar Yas. The husband and wife team were born in Argentina where they have won several prestigious music and vocal contests. The duo's extensive repertoire includes Latin American Music and the popular Tango as well as Boleros and the Flamenco. Founders and members of various vocal ensembles, they have performed in the great concert halls throughout North and South America and Europe. In the tri-state area they have performed at Carnegie Hall, St. Patrick's Cathedral in NYC, Giants Stadium, NJPAC, Trump Taj Mahal, Caesar's Palace and with TEATRO Sí. The YAS CORTES DUO has shared the stage with numerous renowned artists such as; Ariel Ramirez, Jaime Torres, Horacio Guarani, Mercedes Sosa, Teresa Parodi, Ruben Juarez, Raul Lavie, Raul Barbosa, Roberto Goyeneche, Carlos Santana, Atahualpa Yupanqui, Chango Nieto, Susana Rinaldi, Julio Iglesias, Alfredo Zitarroza, Los Tucu Tucu, Victor Heredia, Los Chalchaleros and more. They are thrilled to be having an encore concert presentation with TEATRO Si at the First Friday @ Galeria West Music Series.
We encourage you to join us often during the year at a First Friday @ Galeria West concert to celebrate the arts in a unique setting. We recommend that you consider enjoying a fine meal before or after the concert at one of many fine restaurants in quaint downtown Westfield and the surrounding area. Most are located within a short walk from the gallery.
Event proceeds benefit theatrical programming efforts at TEATRO Si, a 501(c) 3 New Jersey not for profit organization.
