Whats Growing in Winter? Tour #2
Winter Farm Tour #2: Closed Loop Farms
Tuesday, February 16 6:30 - 7:30 pm via Zoom
Free, but registration required.
Closed Loop Farms is an urban farm located in Chicago's Back of the Yards neighborhood. For the last 4 years they have specialized in growing microgreens, baby greens, herbs, and edible flowers for chefs. Tune in for a tour of their farm, led by founder, Adam Pollack. Youll see their indoor microgreens production process, as well as their newly built outdoor hoop house. Viewers can expect to gain some insight on growing greens year-round in a limited growing space, as well as a brief overview of Closed Loop's origin and business strategy as a small urban farm, including their pivot last year to also offer home consumers a subscription-based "salad club".
Registration ENDS at 6:30 pm on Sunday Feb 14, 48 hours prior to the event. You will receive a Zoom link on Monday Feb 15.
Presented by the Center for Agrarian Learning at McHenry County College.
