CLOUD 9s opening scene involving an elderly
man and woman having sex sets the tone
for an intense, emotional, and surprising story
about a love triangle. Inges life with Werner,
her husband of thirty years, has settled into a
comfortable routine. Werner is retired but Inge
still does alterations in their faceless East Berlin
apartment. One day client Karl takes notice
of Inge in a way that powerfully reawakens her
passionate longings. As she begins to allow herself
to follow her hearts desire, family reactions
test Inges poignant struggle to stay true to her
newfound self. The mature cast sets enduring
questions in the final decades of life. Beautifully
acted and directed.
