Begining Lampwork (aka flame work) Bead Making Workshop
In this beginning lampwork bead making class we will cover bead making safety, the type of tools used, torch type, fuels and types of glass. The student will learn how to shape 2-4 basic small beads using melted glass from the HotHead torch and attaching it to a stainless steal rod. In addition students will learn how to pull thin strings of melted glass to add to a bead for decoration. In addition, the class will learn about the annealing of glass beads either in a kiln or using an annealing blanket for smaller beads. Students must wear cotton clothing, short sleeved shirts, closed toed shoes and sunglasses (while at the torch). This is a minimum 2 hour and maximum 3 hour class, depending on the amount of students attending (max 4 students). All attendees of the class must sign a release of liability form at the beginning of the class. 18 years of age or no younger than 14 years of age with written parental consent(on liability form) and parent must be in attendence.
