Heart Repertory January Series
Over the course of three days we will be showing five 30-45 minute pre-recorded zoom shows on YouTube Live. The first two shows, My Friend Irma and A Bunch of Violets, are two fun comedies  that will be aired on Friday January 8th at 7pm.

My Friend Irma was a media franchise that was spawned by a top-rated, long-running radio situation comedy created by writer-director-producer Cy Howard. The radio show was so popular in the late 1940s that its success escalated the films, television, a comic strip and a comic book that comprise the franchise.

A Bunch of Violets by Shirley Gordon is written like a classic sitcom. During the Golden Age of Radio, Gordon wrote scripts for anthology series Suspense ("The Statement of Mary Blake" in 1950 and "Death Parade" in 1951[5]), The Whistler, and Elliott and Cathy Lewis' On Stage. When dramatic radio was revived in the 1970s, Gordon wrote scripts for The Hollywood Radio Theatre and Sears Radio Theatre.

The two shows we will be showing on Saturday January 9th at 7pm are Evening Primrose and The Dark Tower. These two shows are from the mystery and horror genre.

Evening Primrose was taken from the series Escape. Escape was an American radio drama. It was radio's leading anthology series of high-adventure radio dramas, airing on CBS from July 7, 1947 to September 25, 1954.

The Dark Tower was taken from the series Suspense. Suspense was a radio drama series broadcast on CBS Radio from 1940 through 1962. In The Dark Tower, Orson Welles, portrayed by Adrian Cerrato, appears in several roles in a story about actors. One of whom returns from the dead and tries a little extortion.

Our last show on Sunday January 10th at 5pm is called Every Time A Bell Rings. It is a contemporary comedy similar to Noises Off, which takes place during the holidays. Comedy ensues when actors and directors overhear conversations and come to the wrong conclusions, while trying to produce a radio show of "It's A Wonderful Life." Viewer discretion is advised for this particular production due to adult language and subject matter.

You can pay $5 for one night, or get all three nights for only $12. Once you buy your tickets you will be sent a link to the event, or all three events, the day before each event. Please check your spam folder if you do not see an email from Brown Paper Tickets. If you have any questions or any trouble the day of the event, please email us at heartrepertory@gmail.com.
