Judith Supine reception and Ed Schrader's Music Beat performance
Judith Supine is an artist who sources material from old pornography magazines, newspapers and art books, which he then transforms into vibrant and haphazard collages. Supine concerns himself not only with arrangement, but also with scale; once a collage is completed, it is digitally enlarged and reprinted in greyscale. It is then taken back to the studio to be colorized using acrylic paints. In transforming photographs of nude models, celebrities and children into monstrosities, Supine brings attention to the class issues and twisted ideals that run rife in society, instilling a degree of poignancy into his work.
Ed Schrader's Music Beat is a group comprised of Ed Schrader and Devlin Rice. The two came together in 2011 when Schrader, who had been traveling around the country as a solo musician, asked Rice to join him onstage. Their music is reminiscent of David Bowie and King Diamond.
