Expressing Motherhood
"Expressing Motherhood" is a play created, written and acted by mothers of all ages and backgrounds. Moms of all ages, socio-economic status and acting ability are involved.
Stay-home moms turned stage producers Lindsay Kavet and Jessica Cribbs initially dreamed up the concept during their children's naptimes. "We both came from the entertainment industry, and missed having that outlet for new ideas" said Cribbs, mother of two. The play was conceived as a way for mothers to express the joys, sorrows, laughs and trauma of motherhood and interact with others going through similar experiences. People think that your creativity stops after you have a child, says Kavet, We think moms have just as much need as anyone to express themselves creatively.
