Weiberfastnacht - Women's Mardi Gras
The DANK Haus in Lincoln Square hosts Weiberfastnacht, Women's Mardi Gras. The event is the kickoff party for the German Karneval season and the women are in charge. Ladies will enjoy dancing to techno under the disco ball and generally being naughty girls while shirtless men in bow ties serve them.
Everyone is encouraged to come in costume men are especially encouraged to don a dress and wig. Those men that dare to wear a tie will have it cut off by scissor wielding ladies but do not fret: tradition says a kiss is due as compensation.
Entertainment abounds from German dj's to gender bending skits to provokant stand-up and dancing all night to modern German and American pop and techno hits.
Refreshments available, especially krapfen - the traditional sugar doughnut of the Karneval season. German small bites with Flemish sour ale and vanilla ice cream. Hirter Mochel and raspberry Lambec think Chocolate Raspberry cake!
You don't have to be German to enjoy this night of debauchery!
The event is Friday February 7, 2014. Doors open 7:11 pm.
