By popular request, the Time Travelers' Masquerade welcomes back Sirius.B , a fixture in Asheville nightlife and regularly-featured band in Mountain Xpress' Best of WNC! The "absurdist gypsy folk funk punk" group is joined by Masquerade newcomers Leigh Glass and the Hazards, a gutsy, charismatic rock and roll show with heavy blues and bluegrass influences.
The event is 18+. Tickets are $12, and can be purchased in advance at multiverseavl.com!
MORE INFO ON THE BANDS:
Sirius.B:
"Sirius.B is trova italiana, war song, gypsy, middle eastern, quasi-Klezmer-seculare, with strong Irish-drinking overtones and Zappa madness." -Ricardo Cobo
In the the Mountain XPress's Best of Western North Carolina, Sirius.B has been voted:
#1 Favorite All Around Band #1 Favorite Local Band #1 Next Big Thing #1 Acoustic / Folk #1 Rock Band #1 Experimental Band

Their "impressively irreverent, combustible, three-ring circus of sound [and] high-energy style is difficult to neatly categorize. They play foreign music as well as upbeat and serious originals, with a lyrical style ranging from the quirky to the absurd." -Mountain Xpress
Sirius.B's music is created with an eclectic mix of vocal harmonies and instruments including cello, accordion, violin, marching band & African percussion, charango, flamenco and acoustic guitar, banjo, and melodica.

Leigh Glass and the Hazards:
The best compliment songwriter and front woman, Leigh Glass, has ever received was when a fan approached her after a show and said,"Your music makes me wanna go home and make love to my husband." The bluesy songstress and her band, the Hazards, play their own gutsy, charismatic style of rock and roll. The songs are original and the live show is sweaty, passionate, funny, and engaging. "I tell people, if you sit in the front row ,you're gonna get (accidentally) spit on!" With deep roots in Western North Carolina - - her family is from Bethel (Cold Mountain) in Haywood County -- she proudly notes her musical pedigree. "My great aunts and uncles and my grandfather were big-time bluegrassers."
Her 2010 album, The Drone, made the top 20 on WNCW. She has recorded with engineer/producer Rich Brotherton (Robert Earl Keen Band) and Chip Martin of Nashville, TN. Glass is currently recording a new album in Brevard, NC.
