Synchronicity
Synchronicity is a piano/percussion duo that fuses classical and jazz styles into an exciting, highly visual experience. Synchronicity recently performed as guest artists of Paquito DRivera at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Their debut CD Like Minds was featured on National Public Radio; WNYCs Soundcheck interviewed the duo; NPR affiliates broadcast two concerts from their recent tour. Join brothers Garah and Gregory Landes in person for their unique piano and percussion instrumentation.
A native of Westchester County in New York, GARAH LANDES made a critically acclaimed New York debut at Carnegie Recital Hall as the first-prize winner of the Artists International Competition. Mr. Landes was re-engaged by the competition committee for a debut at Merkin Concert Hall in New York. He appears frequently in New York, performing at Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center, Merkin Concert Hall, The American Academy of Arts and Letters, Columbia University, The Spanish Institute, and numerous recitals at Carnegie Recital Hall. Garah has concertized as a recitalist, concerto soloist and chamber musician throughout the United States. He was a scholarship student of the eminent pianist, Earl Wild. He holds a Masters degree from the Manhattan School of Music.
GREGORY LANDES has appeared as both a timpanist and percussionist in numerous symphony orchestras, as well as a drummer and percussionist for many Broadway productions. Gregory has performed in every major concert hall in New York, including Carnegie Hall, Avery Fisher Hall, Alice Tully Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, BAM and The Allen Room (Lincoln Center Jazz). He has performed throughout the world including performances on all four islands of Japan with the opera "Porgy and Bess," a tour of Australia and Germany with the ground-breaking new music group Absolute Ensemble, and throughout Europe with various orchestras. Gregory has performed with many great artists including Paquito D'Rivera, Chuck Mangione, Steve Gadd, Julie Andrews and Steven Sondheim. Gregory received his B.M. from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and his Masters degree from the Juilliard School, where he studied with Roland Kohloff, principal timpanist of the New York Philharmonic.
