Los Angeles Electric 8
Los Angeles Electric 8 performs Bach, Shostakovich, Messiaen, Gabrieli. Taeggio, Kohl, Siegel and Kline (world premiere)
Los Angeles Electric 8, the world's only electric guitar chamber octet performs their final show for the season. This unique evening features a world premiere of Phil Kline's "96 Tears," written for eight sustaining electric guitars, a modern emulation of 16th century viol consorts. They will also perform selections from the "Well Tempered Clavier" by J.S. Bach, "Octet, Op.11" by Dmitri Shostakovich, a selection from "Quartet for the End of Time" by Olivier Messiaen, Italian Renaissance pieces by Gabrieli and Taeggio, Indonesian gamelan styled, "Balinesa El Canto de los Changos" by Randall Kohl, and the ethereal "Domino Figures" by Wayne Siegel.
