22 guided mushroom walks of various levels (A-D) are offered in the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area during the Mushroom Festival weekend. These walks are instructional only. No foraging is permitted.
Pre-Register for walks using the list below (scroll down the page). A maximum of 12 people are allowed on each walk. All walks are Free. PLEASE IGNORE THE "SALES ENDED" NOTE ON THE TOP LINE.
Because participants range widely in experience, we offer 4 levels of learning with walk levels designated as A, B, C, or D - "A" is for the newcomer. For a complete description of the various walks levels, please visit the festival's web page, www.yachats.org/MFest2013.html.
We offer a shuttle service from the Yachats Commons, 441 Hwy 101, to the Cape Perpetua Scenic Area trails. Due to the government shutdown, the Cape Perpetua Visitor Center has been closed. If it remains closed, our first shuttle stop after the Yachats Commons will be Devil's Churn instead of the Cape Perpetua Visitors Center. Devil's Churn is located on the W side of the highway about 3 miles S of downtown Yachats and just N of the Cape Perpetua Visitors Center. It has limited parking.
Purchase a $5 Festival Wristband for access to the Shuttle Service to the trailheads. Wristbands will be available during festival weekend at the Yachats Commons.
Well behaved leased dogs are permitted on the guided walks though bringing dogs is not encouraged. Sorry, no dogs are not permitted on the shuttle bus.
