Polish Music at Polish Hall - Lutoslawski Centenary Celebration
Join us for an evening of chamber music celebrating one of Poland's greatest composers, in this the year of his 100th anniversary. Program includes: Lutoslawski, Wieniawski, Szymanowski Refreshments onsite: sweets, coffee, lights spirits
program: 1. Witold Lutoslawski - Mourning Music for String Orchestra, arranged by DTQ for String Quartet Dtq: duo/trio/quattro - is a versatile, professionally-trained string quartet that explores the best chamber works for string duo, trio, and quartet. Dtq's signature sound might best be attributed to common experiences and approaches to interpretation, combined with a mutual love for the string quartet as an art form. Dtq is: Tatiana Kolchanova - violin Joy Fabos - violin Angelika Furtwangler - viola Erin Winemiller - cello
2. H. Wieniawski, Etude-Caprice op.18, N.3 in D Major, W. Lutoslawski, Recitativo E Arioso, W. Lutoslawski, Subito, H. Wieniawski, Etude-Caprice op.18, N. 4 in A Minor/ all Pieces Arranged by MTDuo Mary Rowell (Violin/Viola) and Tatiana Kolchanova (violin) are professional musicians and teachers who met at a gig. They had so much fun playing together they decided to continue. Their mission is to share their love of the duet repertoire with the world. There are so many original compositions written for two instruments and they want to share.
