The Revolutionary Nutcracker Sweetie - The Kidz Version
Tired of 'traditional' holiday offerings? Then check out Dance Mission Theater's Youth Program in the Revolutionary Nutcracker Sweetie - The Kidz Version. This is a re-staging of Dance Brigade's highly-celebrated Revolutionary Nutcracker Sweetie that ran for ten years ('87-'97) to sold out houses throughout the East Bay including the Scottish Rite Theater.
This take on the classic story addresses contemporary concerns such as consumerism, global warming and endangered species through dance.
It features performances by the Grrrl Brigade, Jr. Grrrl Brigade, and the Youth Program, who are learning the art of Taiko, Hip Hop, Salsa, Ballet, African, Flamenco, Trapeze, Bungee, Tap, Modern and more! Joining them on stage will be Nol Simonse, Leila Baradaran, Lena Gatchalian, Bruce "Mui" Ghent, Stella Adelman and Krissy Keefer.
