Viva Verdi
Orchestra Miami celebrates the bicentennial of Giuseppe Verdi's birth with "Viva Verdi". To honor one of the greatest composers of all time, Orchestra Miami will present an evening filled with some of Verdi's best-loved and lesser known masterworks. Selections include songs, sacred pieces, his only string quartet, arias and chorus, sung by the "Viva Verdi" Choir.
Our special guests include the Delray String Quartet, internationally renowned bass Kevin Short,, Metropolitan Opera star Robynne Redmon, Mezzo-Soprano, Lievens Castillo, Tenor, Marinel Cruz, Soprano, Rebecca Henriques, Soprano, and Elizabeth Beers Kataria, Soprano.
Maestro Elaine Rinaldi will conduct the ensemble, assisted by Lauralie Pow at the piano. A special pre-performance talk on the life and works of Verdi, beginning at 6:30 PM, will be presented by Verdi scholar Karen Henson.
