The Fifth Annual Emerging Choreographers' Showcase takes place Friday, November 8 and Saturday, November 9 at 8pm.
See new dance works by Nahshon Marden, Conor McClure, Yuliya Yankin and Chelsea Zamora. The Emerging Choreographers Showcase highlights the work of promising upcoming local dance creatives.
The 418 Project announces the opening of its 2013 performance season. Once a loosely held collective of quirky artists who produced cultural landmarks like the Human Condition and incubated then unheard of art forms like aerial dance, fire dance and contact improv, The 418 has blossomed into Santa Cruz's "Place to Move and Be Moved".
"By including people of all backgrounds and experience levels and offering a variety of mentorship programs, we are reaching an incredible number of people and supporting the creation of local, original movement art," claims 418 Executive Director Laura Bishop. "About 1,000 people come to The 418 weekly to attend our jams, take our classes and see performances."
