A Tribute to Ronn Pitts
Ronn Pitts influenced so many people: students, industry colleagues, the Columbia College community, and of course, family and friends. Join us for a tribute celebrating the life of Ronn Pitts.
Ronn first taught cinematography workshops to students at Columbia College Chicago more than forty years ago. He broke color barriers throughout his life, from the neighborhood swimming pool at Fuller Park to the segregated Chicago television and filmmaking industries. Ronn rubbed shoulders with Muhammad Ali and Andy Warhol, and was alongside people like Huey Newton as they authored important parts of our history.
Those of us who were fortunate enough to know Mr. Pitts will gather to celebrate this legendary human being on October 17, 2013. If you knew Ronn, you should be here. If you didn't know Ronn, you should be here to learn what an extraordinary man he was.
DOORS OPEN AT 5:30 PM - EVENT STARTS AT 6:00 PM.
This is a free event. We are asking everyone who is joining us to please sign in on the will call list.
