Cayuga Chamber Orchestra presents: Chamber Series #8
This performance begins with a duo for cello and flute, a combination not as often heard as one might wish, considering how well the voices go together. You may wonder where the title - The Jet Whistle - comes from but once you hear the final movement of the piece, you'll know the answer!
The oboe quartet by Mozart is a perennial favorite and will introduce one of our newest members of the orchestra - Second Oboist, Sarah Kendis. Mendelssohn's passionate Piano Trio No. 2 closes the program with its notable melodies... lines that Brahms later borrowed for a couple of his own compositions.
VILLA-LOBOS: Assobio a Játo (The Jet Whistle)
MOZART: Oboe Quartet in F Major, K. 370
MENDELSSOHN: Piano Trio No. 2 in C Minor, Op 66
All ticket-holders are invited to a post-concert reception in the lobby. Join us for a chance to meet and talk with the performers, as well as your fellow audience members.
