Jon Campbell's music and spoken word pieces are an aural documentary of New England coastal life. Sometimes humorous, sometimes poignant, his songs and poems firmly place the listener in that place where the land and sea collide. His music has taken him from the Canadian Maritimes to the islands of Alaska. He is a participant in the annual Fisher Poets Gathering in Astoria, Oregon, has won two Sea Music contests in Washington State, and has heard other singers perform his compositions in a wide variety of venues throughout the country.
Jon has been a RISCA Folk Artist since 1982. His music is performed and recorded by some well-known Irish singers, as well as maritime musicians. A frequent performer at AS220, the New Bedford Working Waterfront Festival, and the regular rounds of area venues, Jon's Sandywoods concert (his second) is a rare East Bay appearance. Don't miss it!
