The Architecture of Stanley D. Anderson & Associates, The Architectural Works of Stanley D Anderson, James Ticknor and William Bergmann: 1925 - 1992 by Paul Bergmann
In collaboration with the Benjamin Marshall Society, the Chicago ICAA pleased to announce a presentation by author Paul Bergmann of his fascinating new book, The Architecture of Stanley D. Anderson & Associates, The Architectural Works of Stanley D Anderson, James Ticknor and William Bergmann: 1925 - 1992
His book details the development of the iconic English style architecture of Lake Forest, Illinois. Mr. Bergmann traces the history of an important architectural firm and the creation of a unique suburban look.
The photos are excellent and the writing is scholarly while very engaging in style. One gets a very real sense of how a top notch architectural practice works and how beautiful homes and civic buildings are built. One particular example is the building of Lake Forest high School, considered one of the most beautiful schools in America.
