Yachats Village Mushroom Fest's !Bienvenidos! Fungi Fiesta
Inviting all fun-guys and fun-gals! This welcome event includes live music and a brief preview of some of the weekend talks by festival speakers Dr. Dan Luoma, Dr. Steven Carpenter, and David Pilz. In honor of the subject of one of these talks - Mayan Mycology - our evening has a Central American theme.
Enjoy a delicious light supper and scrumptious desserts - or just the desserts - we're offering two ticket options. There will also be a no host wine bar with Noble Estate Winery selling tastes, glasses, and bottles.
The supper is Guatemala's "national dish," Pepian de Pollo, a rich yummy chicken stew (ours includes mushrooms!) served with a butternut squash and mushroom empanada, and vegetable salad with pumpkin seed sauce. A vegetarian version of the stew will also be available.
ALEX LLUMIQUINGA, originally from Ecuador and long-time member of the folkloric group Chayag, and MARVIN TIJERINO from Nicaragua will perform music from Central America and the Andes. They will be playing a variety of traditional instruments, including guitar, bandorra, Andean flutes and percussion.
