The Louis Romanos Quartet - Atherton Winter Season 2013-14
Originally founded in New Orleans by composer/percussionist Louis Romanos the Louis Romanos Quartet (LRQ) relocated to Athens, Georgia after Hurricane Katrina in 2005. The music of the band reinterprets both traditional and modern jazz, interweaving Latin, Bebop and New Orleans street-beat rhythms with profound melodies to create a playful, rhythmically driven compelling sound.
