Nuts and Bolts of Nonprofit Law Part 1
This training is designed for both attorneys and non-attorneys who want to learn about the nuts and bolts of nonprofit law. You will be taken through the state and federal law requirements and procedures of starting up a new nonprofit organization and obtaining 501c3 tax-exemption.
If you are thinking about a starting a nonprofit and considering obtaining tax-exemption status under 501(c)(3) of the IRS Code, have just become involved with a nonprofit or representing nonprofits, this is the seminar for you. We will cover all the state and federal legal requirements for starting a Washington tax-exempt nonprofit corporation and the basic ongoing compliance requirements for tax-exempt nonprofits.
Topics will include: fiduciary duties of directors and officers, Charitable Solicitation Act, governance policies, Form 1023 tax-exempt application and Form 990 reporting, This training is ideal for attorneys (2.5 CLE Credits Law and Legal - Pending) and non-attorneys who work with nonprofit organizations or want to work with nonprofits. Highly recommended for attorneys who want to volunteer for Communities Rise. If you are unable to attend the live training it will be recorded.
