Beginning Line Etching Press Workshop
This class is a basic 3 hour intro class learning to use an etching press and line etching. Emphasis on basic press use and print techniques using acid (Ferric Chloride). We will be learning on a Griffin Series IV etching press. David Spiher will be teaching the class. The class is open to the public as well as Compound artists interested in using the in house etching press. 10 student limit. Be prepared to get inky!
-plate bevel/filing -Basic Line etch/Applying hard ground -Gouachelift and Spraquatint 101 -wet paper handling -basic print registration using a mylar sheet -basic plate inking and printing *participants will be given a small copper plate, ink and paper, aprons, gloves provided.
