DERBY FANS OF THE WORLD (VICTORIA) UNITE!
It's been an incredible year for VRDL. We moved to a smaller, more intimate venue at Darebin Sports Stadium. We sent our All Stars to America TWICE to show those Yanks how stuff gets did, yo. Our Queen Bees went and rocked New Zealand's shores, taking some of that VRDL flavour to our trans Tasman derby cousins. And here in Melbourne, we played some DAMN HOT DERBY like the badass mammajammas we all are - because we'd be nothing if it weren't for the awesome home teams that make up VRDL. They are the glue that holds this beautiful, bruised league together.
But all good things must come to an end (at least so we can go on Christmas holidays and get fat on turkey and brandy...). So here it is! November 24 is the VRDL Grand Final! THE ABSOLUTE VERY LAST DOUBLE HEADER OF THE 2013 SEASON! What will happen?! Who'll throw down some big hits?! Which side is gonna win?! It's like the second-to-last episode of Breaking Bad, except ON SKATES and if Breaking Bad never, ever had to end. (BB, y u end?)
Because we know you lovers out there like tunes with your thrash and smash, we've enlisted a killer band to provide the half time entertainment! It's like a festival, but inside and with controlled drinking rules.
Melbourne's Lords of Sludge N Roll - Sexy/Heavy are just as the name suggests.. They are grunty and groovy with plenty of sass to make y'all shake in your skates or your shoes. They've been kicking up the dirt for just a year in Melbourne and left big footprints their wake.
The band are about to release their debut album (featuring Shihad's Tom Larkin on drum duties) this Dec. Even better, they'll be giving away special pre release download passes at the Grand Final!

Our ladder board has been SO CLOSE this season, but in the end there can only be one! The Rock Mobsters and Dolls of Hazards will be competing for bragging rights of first place, while those Dead Ringer Rosies and Toxic Avengers will be battling it to the death for third. TO THE DEATH!*
*Not really to the death. The only box in this game is the penalty box. Stay out of it kids.
Like all our killer bouts, there'll be free face painting and poster making for the kids (and the kids at heart), a BAR for the grownups, a raffle with some great prizes, delicious food truck fare, and the latest VRDL merchandise available for purchase. And most importantly, FIERCE ATHLETIC DAMES bringing their smash and trash skills to the track! It's like all your Sunday dreams come true!

Yarra Trams line #86 (Docklands to Bundoora), Stop 57 (RDSC, Gremel Rd) will bring you right to our front door! Very handy if you would like to say hi to our bar staff. Even handier if you'd like to say, 'Hi, may I have one of your finest alcoholic beverages please!' If you have to drive, there is limited free parking at the venue. Could it be easier? I put it to you that it could not!
