Windy Hill String Band
Henry Warde (mandolin) and Ryan Breen (banjo) went to high school together in Menlo Park, California and started really getting into Bluegrass towards the end of high school. They have been playing mandolin and banjo, respectively, for almost three years. Ryan moved out to Fort Collins, CO in 2004 to attend Colorado State. He met John Stewart (bass) at a Bluegrass jam. After Henry moved to Colorado in June, 2008 to start a Bluegrass group with Ryan, they had been in search of a solid bass player and John fit perfectly. A few hours before one of their first shows, John had suggested that they pick a few tunes with Jason Stapleton (guitar). At that show the band realized their potential for a hard driving Bluegrass band featuring mainly original and standard tunes. The band has been together since August, 2008.
