Curtis Roosevelt: Too Close to the Sun
As the young daughters of President-elect Barack Obama get ready to move into the White House, Curtis Roosevelt, grandson of Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt recounts his childhood, five years of which were spent living in the White House. Too Close to the Sun is both an intimate and affectionate portrait of his grandparents and a thoughtful discussion of reflected fame and its impact on young people while growing up. Eight years old when he left the White House, Roosevelt moved with his mother and stepfather, Anna and John Boettinger to Seattle, where John worked as the publisher of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer for Randolph Hearst from 1936-1943. Presented by the Town Hall Center for Civic Life, with University Book Store.
