Please join Oakland Youth Chorus in celebrating the Bay Area's multiculturalism with a rousing concert unlike any other holiday show you'll see this season!
Many of the 600 young singers ages 5 to 18 from 20 community and school ensembles we serve will sing songs from around the globe honoring the rich diversity of Oakland and the San Francisco Bay Area.
Songs include - Ahrirang (Korea), Yecham Zhela (Croatia), Ngci Bo (South Africa-Zulu), Tama Tu (New Zealand), Sarasponda (Dutch), Jai Ho (India), E La Don Don/Riu Riu Chiu (Spain), and Kalinka (Russia), to name just a few.
The evening includes stunning performances by OYC's incredibly talented middle and high school Concert Chorus, as well as performances by the K-5th grade combined Miracle Chorus, featuring children from 15 school and community programs including Chabot Elementary, Community School for Creative Education, Franklin Elementary (Alameda), Glenview Elementary, Hillcrest Elementary, Kaiser Elementary, Learning Without Limits, Mills Children's School, Peralta Elementary, Redwood Heights, St. Elizabeth's, St. Martin de Porres and Think College Now, as well as our All-City community ensembles in Alameda and Oakland, plus our middle school ensembles from Bret Harte Middle School, Claremont Middle School, James Madison Middle School and Lincoln Middle School (Alameda).
