Solo House is an interactive workshop space where over the course of 7 sessions you will write, develop and perform (in front of a live audience!) a 15-minute solo performance piece. This Fall our final show will be held in Berkeley at the Marsh Theater Arts Center!

Solo House is facilitated in a workshop setting, where each week you get individual time on stage and feedback on your script. There are weekly writing assignments and creative support to help you find your voice, creating a story arc, strong characters, and experimenting with the space of the stage. We will have two guest artists visiting the class to share their expertise on body choreography / movement and acting for the stage.

Solo House is designed for writers / performers of ANY genre and of ALL levels - poets, fiction writers, playwrights, spoken word artists, stand up artists, storytellers, actors, - for anyone thinking about how to write a one-person play. Come with the tiniest grain of an idea and leave with a solid script draft and performance experience!

Notes:
PLEASE NOTE THAT THE $100.00 DEPOSIT SECURES A SPOT FOR YOU IN THE CLASS. THE DEPOSIT IS NON-REFUNDABLE. Please be certain you can commit to the entire 7 sessions - you can do it!!

There is room for 6 students in this class!
