Please join us on Thursday, October 24th from 6-9 pm at Intuit (756 N. Milwaukee) for Tippling & Tarts. Here's how it works:
Tippling: ~Custom cocktails prepared by the expert mixologists at the U.S. Bartender's Guild, created to complement the evening's pastries ~Beer from local favorite Half Acre Brewery
Tarts: ~Sweet and savory tarts, prepared by the Blue Sky Bakery staff, featuring spirits from our sponsor, Heaven Hill ~A signature pastry from Bang Bang Pie Shop, the hottest pie purveyors in town
You: You'll play a big part in this event. Just showing up won't cut it. In the interest of full disclosure, we've challenged Bang Bang to a pie showdown. Yup. Our youth against their highly-acclaimed pastry chef/owner. Who will declare the winner? You will, friend.
Also, we'll need you to roll up your sleeves and join in the spirit of competition. Teams of two will each be given an array of ingredients with which to create a plated dessert. In fifteen minutes. Your creations will be judged David Tamarkin, former food editor of Time Out Chicago, and Janet Fuller, former food editor of the Chicago Sun-Times. The winning team will be given a very sweet prize.
