Composers William Byrd, Orlando Gibbons and Thomas Tallis put England on the musical map well before the age of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones. Calgary Renaissance Singers & Players will present works by these three Renaissance rock stars, with a special focus on Gibbons' Second Service. You can also expect a nod to some of the great English rockers of the 1960s!
This concert will be a fundraising event for Calgary-based National Music Centre, which lost some of its treasured keyboard instruments in the flood. Cash donations and cheques made out directly to the National Music Centre will be gratefully received.
