Opening Night Celebration - Celluloid Bainbridge Film Festival 2013
A diverse lineup of selected films with a Bainbridge connection will hit the big screen during the 15th Annual Celluloid Bainbridge Film Festival, November 1 - 3, 2013
Festival highlights include the Friday evening OPENING NIGHT CELEBRATION at The Marketplace at Pleasant Beach on Bainbridge Island from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. Wine, brews and hors d'oeuvres will be served as you mingle with the Festival filmmakers and then cross the street to the Historic Lynwood Theater for a screening of environmental documentary "A Fierce Green Fire: The Battle for a Living Planet".
Director Mark Kitchell, director of the Academy Award nominee "Berkeley in the Sixties", will take questions from the audience following the film.
The $35 ticket includes entry to the party and film.
Single tickets ($10) for the film only will be available that evening at the Lynwood Theater.
A FIERCE GREEN FIRE: The Battle for a Living Planet is the first big-picture exploration of the environmental movement grassroots and global activism spanning fifty years from conservation to climate change. Directed and written by Mark Kitchell, Academy Award-nominated director of Berkeley in the Sixties, and narrated by Robert Redford, Ashley Judd, Van Jones, Isabel Allende and Meryl Streep, the film premiered at Sundance Film Festival 2012, has won acclaim at festivals around the world, and in 2013 begins theatrical release as well as educational distribution and use by environmental groups and grassroots activists.

Drop in Bainbridge Cinemas at the Pavilion on SATURDAY morning at between 10:00 am - 1:00 pm for a family friendly assortment. PLUS, a professional panel discussion "Cinematic Transformations: How the Digital Revolution Has Changed the Movies".
Come to the Lynwood on SUNDAY for a full 12 hours of award-winning festival favorites, budding student shorts, and provocative, entertaining films and documentaries.
