Event
"This Time" by Lori Freedman followed by Q&A
Musical revolutionary Lori Freedman (clarinet) will perform her improvisation This Time on Monday, October 21, at 7:30 p.m. Following the performance, she will answer questions about her work and improvisational process.
This Time is a set of musical ideas discovered in the moment of expressing them. Confounded and obsessed by the nature of Time and its omnipotent control of designing sound routes, Lori Freedman invites the listener to enter into a state of instability with music flowing imperceptibly between tenses: now and then, then and nowthis time. Improvisations hovering between times now past is a perpetual culmination, an ongoing history of Freedman's own musical activities and the confluence of them.
Lori Freedman is known internationally as one of the most provocative and creative performers in the field of contemporary music. Her work includes concert repertoire, improvised and electroacoustic music, and collaborative works
