And, in keeping with the true meaning of democracy, on November 14, you'll have the historic opportunity to VOTE. First, as a member of "audience community" to vote for which documentary we'll screen.
Second, you'll vote to decide on your dinner options.
So join us on NOVEMBER 14, for this historic, tasty and inspired evening, and remember, Your Vote Counts!
The 2 documentary choices are:
UNCOUNTED: The New Math of American Elections or
PROCEED AND BE BOLD
UNCOUNTED is an explosive new documentary that shows how the election fraud that changed the outcome of the 2004 election led to even greater fraud in 2006 - and now looms as an unbridled threat to the outcome of the 2008 election. This controversial feature length film by Emmy award-winning director David Earnhardt examines in factual, logical, and yet startling terms how easy it is to change election outcomes and undermine election integrity across the U.S. UNCOUNTED shares well documented stories from Florida, Utah, California and other states, about the spine-chilling disregard for the right to vote in America. UNCOUNTED is a wakeup call to all Americans. Beyond increasing the publics awareness, the film inspires greater citizen involvement in fixing a broken electoral system. As we approach the decisive election of 2008, UNCOUNTED will change how you feel about the way votes are counted in America.
PROCEED AND BE BEAUTIFUL is about Amos Paul Kennedy Jr., an internationally recognized printing press artist, who'd rather be referred to as a humble Negro printer. This self-proclaimed humble (sometimes lowly) Negro printer tossed aside his corporate 9-to-5 job at AT&T with its steady income, chooses to live in extremely rural Alabama towns and goes wherever his art takes him. Amos found his calling making chipboard posters he sells inexpensively, so anyone and everyone can afford his art. His posters are socially, politically, and racially charged: with quotes from Sojourner Truth, Rosa Parks, and phrases like coffee makes you black. The documentary film Proceed and Be Bold! probes Kennedy, his friends, family, and colleagues in an attempt to unravel the artists meaning. The result is a discussion on the monetary and intrinsic values of art, the goals of an artist, the workings of race and culture, and what the American Dream really means.
