Holiday Gift Sale--POSTPONED DUE TO COVID STAY AT HOME ADVISORY
Center for Applied Theatre and Active Culture (CATAC) and New World Performance Lab (NWPL) present a Holiday Gift Sale on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, December 11, 12, and 13, 2020, from 10 am until 6pm at The Balch Street Theatre, 220 South Balch Street, Akron, OH 44302. All proceeds from the sale will go to benefit the programs of CATAC and NWPL. Gently used books, CDs, and DVDs will be on sale at bargain prices. Entrance to the sale will be by ticket only for a specific time. Entry tickets are $5. There will be a period of free entry from 4pm to 6pm on Sunday, December 13. Covid protocols will be followed. Participants are required to wear a mask and attendance will be limited to 20 shoppers each hour. For more information call: (234) 678-8408. This is a great way to support local Akron arts organizations for the holiday season. CATAC is a 501(c)3 charitable organization and donations will be accepted at the door. About NWPL and CATAC New World Performance Laboratory is an internationally acclaimed ensemble of theatre artists that has been active in Northeastern Ohio since 1992. Since taking up residence at The Balch Street Theatre in 2011, NWPL has produced a number of exceptional productions including Virginia Woolfs ORLANDO, Gilgamesh: He Who Saw Everything, The Devils Milk Trilogy, and a bilingual Don Quijote. CATAC serves as an administrative umbrella for the activities at Balch Street Theatre. CATAC has hosted various theatre companies such as QuTheatr, Studium Teatralne from Poland, TAPIT Theatre Ensemble from Madison, WI, and MaSue Productions. CATAC and NWPL spearhead numerous community projects, training sessions, educational programs, and performances throughout the region, nationally, and internationally. CATAC and NWPL are supported in part by the City of Akron, The John S. and James L. Knight Foundation, The Akron Community Foundation, The Char and Chuck Fowler Family Foundation, GAR Foundation, and the Ohio Arts Council, which receives support from the State of Ohio and the National Endowment for the Arts.
