Sing it Sister! Six Centuries of Girl Groups
Soli Deo Gloria presents "Sing It Sister!: Six Centuries of Girl Groups", Friday November 22 at 7:30 pm at University Presbyterian Church in Fresno. The concert will explore music written for women's voices over the span of six centuries. Beginning with a chant of Hildegard Von Bingen (12th century nun) and music written for the 17th century Benedictine convent of Santa Radegonda, the program will represent a "Who's Who" of music by famous choral composers such as Morley, Tallis, Vivaldi, Bach, Brahms, Poulenc, and Stroope. There will also be spirituals and contemporary arrangements of tunes from the Andrews Sisters, Sweet Honey in the Rock, and Sweet Adelines. Don't miss stellar music sung by the beautiful voices of Soli Deo Gloria, directed by Dr. Julie Carter.
